MIA

I am in the final throws of the PhD at the moment so I have not been able to get any sewing done, plus I am waiting for inspiration to hit for my next design which I would like to involve some colour element. To stop myself from going completely round the bend I have passed the time by experimenting with knitting which I haven't done since I was about 7. Unfortunately my camera has vanished under the piles of paper so I can't show any of it but basic knitting is not very exciting to look at anyway. I have done a scarf (pretty much obligatory at some point so I got it out the way) and am now working on some simple fingerless gloves to get the hang of working a tube on four needles.

Hopefully I will have more time to devote to my sewing soon so I can get back to developing my skills.

Summer bag

I have seen distracted by a side project. I always have a cloth hand bag for the summer and the one I have been using for the last few years is past it so I have been making a new one.
I used a variation on crazy patchwork and added some machine and hand embroidery as well as silver and gold trim. It is large enough to hold a pad of A4 paper. Now that task is over I will get back to what I am supposed to be doing.
